Mission Statement
Board of Governors, St. Dunstan's University

  1. The Board of Governors of St. Dunstan's University derives its legal authority from its Act of Incorporation, and its moral purpose from its historical place and function within the Diocese of Charlottetown.
  2. To the extent possible the Board strives to foster Christian educational ideals exemplified in the motto of St. Dunstan's University, Ex eodem fonte fides et scientia (From the Same Source Faith and Knowledge).
  3. The Board members are trustees of all the University's assets, and they govern all aspects of its financial operations. The Board prepares an annual financial statement and an annual budget, and maintains audited records of all transactions.
  4. The Board serves the general aims of Christian education by providing negotiated financial (and other) support for authorized programs of the Diocese.
  5. The Board fulfills a specific role in the Diocese by addressing the needs of Christian higher education (including post-secondary education, continuing and adult education, etc.) and Christian culture in its various forms.
